Journalism 201A: News Writing and Reporting (Wilson): Local Background

This guide is for Instructor Wilson's Journalism 201A class. It covers finding local and national information, as well as finding information at Cuesta.

Getting Started

For local background, it would be wise to check the local Chambers of Commerce websites, the U.S. Census Bureau website, as well as local newspapers. NewsBank database provides access to local newspapers, like the Tribune. For older newspaper articles, you may want to visit the San Luis Obispo Library, which has local newspapers on microfilm.
