Students in ETHN/EDUC 210 “Ethnic Studies for Educators” complete a Storybook project where they learn to present Ethnic Studies theories, concepts, and examples in ways that are appropriate to young learners. This project was started at Cuesta College in Spring 2024 by Dr. Mario Espinoza-Kulick and is maintained by instructors Dr. Mario Espinoza-Kulick and Deborah Ikenador. Inspiration for this assignment is drawn from Dr. Lucha Arévalo’s Anti-Racist Children’s Literature Project at Río Hondo College.
